What it does in the body

Findings, each with its evidence level — animal data kept visibly apart from what's unproven in humans.

GH & IGF-1 rise

In early studies in healthy adults, growth hormone and IGF-1 rose over several days.

PROVEN IN HUMANS
Acts for days

A chemical tweak (DAC) extends its action from minutes to about 6–8 days.

MECHANISM ONLY
Anabolic axis

The raised growth hormone is why it is studied for muscle growth and anti-ageing.

MECHANISM ONLY
Long-term benefit unproven

Development stopped after Phase II; long-term safety and benefit for specific indications are not established.

Mechanism of action

What CJC-1295 does in the body — step by step.

01

CJC-1295 is a synthetic analog of the body's own growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH).

02

The substance binds selectively to the GHRH receptor in the pituitary, where it stimulates the pulsatile release of growth hormone (GH).

03

Characteristic of CJC-1295 is the DAC modification (Drug Affinity Complex): a maleimidopropionic acid group binds covalently to circulating serum albumin, thereby extending the half-life from a few minutes to several days.

Research status

How far along is the evidence?

PRECLINICALEARLY CLINICAL STUDIESCLINICALLY ESTABLISHED
CJC-1295 has been investigated in early-phase clinical studies for its GH/IGF-1-stimulating effect.
CJC-1295 has been investigated in early-phase clinical studies for its GH/IGF-1-stimulating effect.
Two Phase I/II studies in healthy adults showed dose-dependent increases in GH and IGF-1 over several days after a single dose.
Therapeutic development programmes were not continued by ConjuChem; no completed Phase III studies exist.
Long-term safety and clinical efficacy for specific indications have not been established.
04

Known risks

Without human data, safety statements are limited. What is known:

01
GH/IGF-1 overstimulation: possible promotion of insulin resistance, acromegaly-like symptoms with overdose
02
Theoretical cancer risk from elevated IGF-1 levels (promotion of cell growth)
03
Fluid retention, joint pain (class effects known from GH studies)
04
Unknown long-term safety — no completed long-term studies
05
Legal risk: possession may be punishable under ADBG/DmMV
06
Product quality cannot be verified from unapproved sources

Frequently asked questions

What is CJC-1295?+

CJC-1295 is a synthetic analog of the body's own growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH).

What type of peptide is CJC-1295?+

CJC-1295 belongs to the GHRH analog class.

What is CJC-1295 used for?+

In research, CJC-1295 has primarily been investigated in the context of: Muscle growth, Anti-aging. These are research findings (evidence: early clinical studies), not proven benefits in humans and not a usage recommendation.

Is CJC-1295 legal in Germany?+

CJC-1295 is not approved as a medicine in Germany. Obtaining it outside clinical studies is legally problematic. It is additionally relevant under the German Doping Agent Quantity Ordinance (DmMV).

Is CJC-1295 FDA-approved / legal in the US?+

No. CJC-1295 is not FDA-approved as a drug in the US; it is mostly sold as a research chemical and not for human consumption.

Is CJC-1295 legal in Canada?+

No. CJC-1295 is not authorized by Health Canada and not intended for human consumption.

Where can I buy CJC-1295?+

Peptica sells nothing and names no sources. CJC-1295 is "not approved" in Germany; obtaining unapproved substances outside clinical studies is illegal and carries quality and safety risks.

What is the dosage of CJC-1295?+

Peptica publishes no dosing. There are no approved dosing guidelines for CJC-1295; figures circulating online stem from animal studies or anecdote, not from validated human protocols. This is not medical advice.

Is CJC-1295 banned in sport (WADA)?+

Yes. CJC-1295 is on the WADA Prohibited List and is therefore banned in competitive sport.

What are the known risks of CJC-1295?+

Documented risks include: GH/IGF-1 overstimulation: possible promotion of insulin resistance, acromegaly-like symptoms with overdose; Theoretical cancer risk from elevated IGF-1 levels (promotion of cell growth). This is not a complete safety assessment and not medical advice — see the risks section for the full list.
