Mechanism of action
- CJC-1295 is a synthetic analog of the body's own growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH).
- The substance binds selectively to the GHRH receptor in the pituitary, where it stimulates the pulsatile release of growth hormone (GH).
- Characteristic of CJC-1295 is the DAC modification (Drug Affinity Complex): a maleimidopropionic acid group binds covalently to circulating serum albumin, thereby extending the half-life from a few minutes to several days.
- This produces a sustained elevation of the GH/IGF-1 baseline rather than physiological pulses.
- The variant without the DAC modification is listed separately as Mod GRF 1-29 and has a markedly shorter duration of action.
Research status
- CJC-1295 has been investigated in early-phase clinical studies for its GH/IGF-1-stimulating effect.
- Two Phase I/II studies in healthy adults showed dose-dependent increases in GH and IGF-1 over several days after a single dose.
- Therapeutic development programmes were not continued by ConjuChem; no completed Phase III studies exist.
- Long-term safety and clinical efficacy for specific indications have not been established.

What type of peptide is CJC-1295?
CJC-1295 belongs to the GHRH analog class.
Is CJC-1295 legal in Germany?
CJC-1295 is not approved as a medicine in Germany. Obtaining it outside clinical studies is legally problematic. It is additionally relevant under the German Doping Agent Quantity Ordinance (DmMV).
Where can I buy CJC-1295?
Peptica sells nothing and names no sources. CJC-1295 is "not approved" in Germany; obtaining unapproved substances outside clinical studies is illegal and carries quality and safety risks.
Is CJC-1295 banned in sport (WADA)?
Yes. CJC-1295 is on the WADA Prohibited List and is therefore banned in competitive sport.
What are the known risks of CJC-1295?
Documented risks include: GH/IGF-1 overstimulation: possible promotion of insulin resistance, acromegaly-like symptoms with overdose; Theoretical cancer risk from elevated IGF-1 levels (promotion of cell growth). This is not a complete safety assessment and not medical advice — see the risks section for the full list.
How well researched is CJC-1295?
The evidence is classified as “early clinical studies”. 3 studies are cited on this page.
What is the molecular weight of CJC-1295?
